What are the features of blackout sheer shades?

Blackout sheer shades are designed to provide advanced light and privacy control while allowing you to achieve near-total darkness when needed. They are ideal for bedrooms or any space requiring darkness. Here are the typical features of these shades:

Blackout sheer shades feature alternating fabric bands that can be overlapped or aligned depending on your needs. This allows you to adjust the amount of incoming light while maintaining privacy.
Made from high-quality blackout material, these shades are specifically designed to effectively block sunlight, making them a perfect choice for bedrooms and areas where total darkness is desired.
They offer precise light control. You can adjust the bands to let in the desired amount of light, whether it’s a soft diffusion or near-total darkness (up to 90% blackout).
These shades also provide effective protection against harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, helping prevent fading of furniture, fabrics, and artwork.
Available in a wide range of colors, textures, and finishes, blackout zebra shades can be customized to perfectly match your interior décor style.
They are easy to care for, as they can be cleaned with a soft cloth or vacuumed to remove dust.

What are the advantages of choosing sheer shades?

Sheer shades, also known as banded shades, zebra blinds or layered shades, offer a unique combination of style and functionality for window coverings. Here are the advantages of sheer shades:

Personalized Light Control: Sheer shades allow precise control of light thanks to their horizontal bands that align and overlap. You can adjust the bands to achieve the desired amount of light—from full transparency to complete privacy—offering unmatched versatility.

Adjustable Privacy: Sheer shades let you adjust privacy by changing the spacing between the bands. Positioning the bands closer together provides total privacy, while spacing them apart allows an outside view while maintaining discretion.

Elegant Aesthetic: Sheer shades provide a modern and stylish look that suits a variety of interior decor styles. The interplay of horizontal bands creates a unique visual effect that adds a touch of sophistication to any space.

Easy Maintenance: Sheer shades are generally easy to clean, as they can be wiped with a soft cloth or vacuumed. This makes it simple to keep your space clean and well-maintained.

What is the difference between the Stores Rabais line and the Premium line?

The Premium line is our high-end collection. We offer an extended 5-year warranty on these products. In addition, the mechanisms and fabrics are of superior quality. The cassette in this line is wider, providing more height options for large windows. You can also choose the option of two fabrics on the same cassette with this collection.

The Stores Rabais line, on the other hand, is a more economical collection. It comes with a 2-year product warranty. The cassette design is also different from the Premium line. However, both collections offer excellent quality and are available to meet a wide range of projects and needs.

What is the difference between warm white and cool white?

The main difference between warm white and cool white lies in their color temperature.

Warm White: This shade is often associated with the softness and warmth of late afternoon sunlight. It has a slightly yellow to orange appearance. Choose warm white if your décor features beige, natural tones, brown, wicker, etc.

Cool White: Cool white light is brighter, with a bluish tint. It provides increased visibility and more accurate color perception but can create a cooler ambiance. Choose cool white if your décor features gray, black, concrete, charcoal tones, etc.

What are the features of solar shades?

Solar shades are a highly popular window treatment option due to their functional and aesthetic benefits. Here are the main advantages of solar shades for your windows:

Solar shades are specifically designed to filter sunlight while reducing glare. They create a bright and pleasant ambiance while preserving outward visibility, allowing you to enjoy natural light without the discomfort of glare.
Solar shades effectively block harmful UV rays. This UV protection helps preserve furniture, fabrics, artwork, and flooring from fading and deterioration, extending their lifespan.
The first number in the specification (for example, "5%") refers to the percentage of visible light allowed to pass through the solar fabric. A lower number means the fabric is denser and blocks more visible light, providing greater privacy and reducing glare.
The privacy level offered by solar shades also depends on the difference in lighting between indoors and outdoors. During the day, when the interior is brighter than the exterior, solar shades provide a certain level of privacy, as it is harder for people outside to see inside. However, at night, when the interior is lit and the outside is dark, solar shades may not provide the same level of privacy.
Solar shades are excellent for heat management. They reduce excess heat by blocking part of the sun’s rays, which can reduce the need for air conditioning in summer. In winter, they help retain warmth, resulting in significant energy savings.
Solar shades are available in a variety of colors, patterns, and degrees of transparency. This means you can customize your interior décor to match your style while enjoying all the functional benefits of solar shades.

In summary, solar shades offer the perfect balance between style and functionality, providing precise light control, UV protection, energy savings, partial privacy, and a customizable design. They are an excellent choice for both homes and commercial spaces seeking a modern, versatile window treatment solution.

How to choose the right UV percentage for a solar shade?

The choice of light transparency percentage is indicated by the first number in the specification—for example, '5%' refers to the percentage of visible light allowed to pass through the solar shade. A lower number means the fabric is denser and blocks more visible light, providing greater privacy and reducing glare.

What are the features of blackout roller?

Total Privacy: Blackout roller provide complete privacy by blocking the view from outside. This creates a private environment in bedrooms, bathrooms, and other spaces where confidentiality is essential.

Light Control: Blackout roller are ideal for controlling incoming light. They effectively reduce glare and heat from the sun while maintaining a dark and comfortable atmosphere, perfect for bedrooms or media rooms.

Thermal Insulation: Blackout roller have thermal insulation properties, meaning they help maintain indoor temperature by blocking excessive heat in the summer and retaining warmth in the winter, which can help reduce energy costs.

Blackout roller are available in a variety of styles, colors, and textures, allowing them to blend harmoniously with any décor. Their versatility makes them an aesthetic and functional choice for various rooms and applications. Whether you want to create a comfortable atmosphere, ensure privacy, or save energy, blackout roller are an excellent choice for window coverings.

How can I achieve total darkness?

If you are looking for total darkness in your space, we have the perfect solution for you. Choosing an outside-mount installation is key to ensuring uncompromising darkness.

When the fabric is installed outside the window frame, it extends evenly over the window, eliminating any gaps or play between the fabric and the mechanism. This means that unwanted light is completely blocked, providing total darkness—ideal for peaceful sleep, immersive movie viewing, or any other situation where maximum darkness is needed.

If you prefer a more discreet installation, choose an inside-mount and add a beautiful custom rail curtain for a magazine-worthy décor. Visit our 'How to Measure' page for more information.
